I think it's kind of remarkable that Google has become so annoying to use that I'm willing to pay $10 per month (more after the currency conversion!) for an equivalent service. But here we are.
I've been using Kagi as my main search engine for about 8 months now. Frankly, the search results aren't quite as good as Google yet, but they're about 90% of the way there. Being able to manually rank up or down different websites gets it up to 95%.
I'm willing to give up that bit of search quality, because in return I get no ads, no AI summary (unless I want it), no product previews, and no begging me to use their app. Just the search results. When I first started using Kagi, I noticed I was skipping over the first couple results because I was so used to the top half of Google's results page being useless ads. It's refreshing to have my relastionship with this company be as simple as "I give you money, you give me search results."
